The Santa Monica Mountains are the second most visited National Park in the United States. This mountainous range extends for more than 30 miles, beginning in the Pacific Ocean at Point Mugu in Ventura County and extending northward to the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles. The Santa Monica Mountains are home to many wild animals, including bobcats, coyotes, mountain lions, and black bears. The park is also home to many different types of plants, including many that are found nowhere else in the world.
